With more than 150,000 units sold, Linde BlueSpot, the blue warning signal, has become a true Linde success. Customers throughout the world and in a wide range of industries welcomed the simple and effective LED lights - thus contributing to increasing safety for truck drivers, employees and visitors at the business premises.

The high sales figures have been generated since 2012 when Linde was the first to launch BlueSpot on global markets. The ideal is quite simple: An intense LED light beam on the ground warns that for example a forklift is approaching and that there is a potential hazard.

  • Spot on security

Obviously, there have been other warning systems, but they typically involved acoustic signals. The noise could be annoying but was also often ignored with all the other background noise at the warehouse. However, Linde BlueSpot creates a visual and marked light beam for reversing as well as when going forward.

The patented Linde BlueSpot has been developed as a simple, reliable and flexible safety system. The purpose of the LED light is not to frighten people but to use its intensity to draw attention to the potential risk. Linde BlueSpot has a low energy consumption and is developed to tolerate environmental impacts such as dust, rain, vibrations etc. - and the simple construction can be adjusted to basically any type of transport equipment.

    - The most simple ideas are sometimes the most effective ones. Linde BlueSpot is an example of that line of thinking. There are many technical considerations and engineering calculations behind the invention, but basically, it solves as basic safety task at the warehouse. Moreover, that additional safety can be incorporated at a relatively low investment cost, says Allan Christensen, Sales Manager, N.C. Nielsen.

  • New Linde standards

Linde BlueSpot is not the only safety feature which is now more or less standard within global safety equipment. Through the years, Linde has developed systems such as Linde Load Management, Safety Pilot and Dynamic Mast Control which have increased safety in each their own way. The vision is to reduce the number of work-related accidents to zero, and Linde uses new innovations to target that noble purpose.
