When Niels Chr. Nielsen founded his village forge in 1946, he had no idea that he was laying the foundations for a successful company—one that would grow to become Denmark's, and Scandinavia’s, largest supplier of forklift trucks, terminal tractors, and specialised machinery.
The long and steady effort to replace manual, repetitive and exhausting labour with efficient and profitable transport solutions has proven to be a sustainable idea—it's deeply rooted in our DNA. Continuous improvements in internal transport, in close cooperation with our customers, have characterised our development across generations.
In 1972, the founder's sons, Poul B. Nielsen and Per T. Nielsen, took over the reins. They intensified sales efforts across Jutland. At the same time, the brothers began distributing what was then an overlooked German brand of forklift trucks—Linde. In hindsight, this was a crucial stepping stone in the company’s evolution.
Linde has become the backbone of N.C. Nielsen. Over the years, N.C. Nielsen has sold more than 70,000 trucks—most of them Linde. Widely regarded as the world leader in truck technology, the brand has ensured efficient warehouse logistics for countless companies.
Thousands of Innovative Linde Solutions
With around 80 product series, up to 382 model variants and more than 10,000 equipment options, Linde offers the market’s widest range of logistics machines and forklift trucks.
We are proud to represent the Linde brand and continuously develop our total value proposition for our customers through technical development, advice on safety and energy optimisation, fleet management, financial solutions and service quality – all to support your business.
Time for Heavy Handling
For N.C. Nielsen, it was a natural step to expand the portfolio with heavy-duty solutions. In 2000, this led to the dealership for Dutch Terberg terminal tractors, which move containers in ferry ports and distribution centres. In 2007, it was followed by a development partnership with Swedish Konecranes, supplying state-of-the-art reach stackers for industries such as wind energy and port terminals. We also represent Combilift, Baumann and Scheuerle SPMT trailers within the heavy-duty segment.
The World’s Largest Reach Stacker
Innovation goes hand in hand with evolution. Development work requires countless hours at the drawing board, in the design department and in the workshop – where, among other achievements, we have built the world’s largest reach stacker.
This highly modified Konecranes machine has had its entire geometry redesigned to lift 180 tonnes on the hook. Today, this giant machine moves enormous wind turbine towers and other heavy cargo at the port facilities in Esbjerg.
Used Machines with Proven Value
With more than 800 refurbished machines and a 8,000 m² showroom in Balling, N.C. Nielsen offers Denmark’s largest selection of used machinery. On our website, you can search among all used machines and equipment – including brands that we do not represent as new.
Service without limits
Every day, more than 130 service technicians are on the road across Denmark, Norway and Sweden, maintaining equipment or providing emergency assistance in the event of breakdowns for all our partners. They are supported by nationwide service and spare parts organisations in all three countries.
We stock more than 25,000 spare parts, enabling fast next-day delivery.
