Press releases As an exciting new addition, N.C. Nielsen is introducing the Linde Xi Roadster – a variant of the Linde Xi models that sets new standards for visibility, driver comfort, and performance. The Linde Xi Roadster variants include both the 3-wheel Xi14–Xi20 R and the 4-wheel Xi16–Xi20 RP models, ideal for demanding warehouse and logistics operations.

These trucks are designed for modern supply chain environments, where the combination of productivity, workplace safety and comfort is crucial for both bottom-line results and employee wellbeing.

Visibility as a Starting Point

The Linde Xi Roadster clearly distinguishes itself from traditional forklift designs by eliminating the conventional A-pillar in the driver's cabin. Instead, the tilt cylinders are mounted in the roof structure. This provides the driver with an unobstructed 180-degree forward view and also improves upward and lateral visibility.

In practice, this clear visibility makes a significant difference – particularly in high-bay storage areas and in zones with dense traffic of both forklifts and pedestrians. Optional features like a panoramic roof made of armored glass or slim roof pillars further enhance visibility when stacking and picking at height.

For companies prioritizing safety and operational efficiency, the improved visibility reduces the risk of accidents, collisions and handling errors – contributing to a safer and more efficient working environment.

Ergonomics and Comfort in Focus

Both model types in the Xi Roadster variants are designed with a strong focus on the drivers’ daily comfort and ergonomics. An integrated Li-ION battery frees up extra space in the cabin, providing more legroom, increased headroom, and a lower entry height.

The trucks are equipped with a two-pedal system and Linde Load Control, ensuring intuitive and precise operation. With the optional Linde Steer Control, the traditional steering wheel is replaced by a joystick or mini-wheel integrated into the left armrest. This setup provides better visibility and more ergonomic steering – especially beneficial during repetitive precision maneuvers.

Advanced Technology for Modern Demands

Inside, the Linde Xi Roadster features 90-volt electric architecture and synchronous reluctance motors. This ensures fast acceleration, smooth lifting performance, and high energy efficiency – even under heavy loads and multi-shift operations.

With top speeds of up to 20 km/h and lift speeds up to 20% higher than the segment average, the trucks deliver measurable advantages in busy warehouse environments where flow and capacity are critical to business performance.

An intelligent thermal management system ensures the machines maintain performance over time – without the risk of overheating. This makes them ideal for indoor operations and for switching between indoor and outdoor areas.

Flexible Model Selection

The two model variants offer flexibility for different work scenarios:

  • The 3-wheel Xi14–Xi20 R models have a compact turning radius and swing axle, making them ideal for maneuvering in narrow aisles and compact warehouse environments.
  • The 4-wheel Xi16–Xi20 RP models feature a combination steering axle that ensures maximum stability – suitable for heavy loads and more uneven surfaces.

Regardless of the model, you get a forklift with a well-thought-out chassis design that combines maneuverability with robust stability.

Reliability and Minimal Downtime

The Xi models are built with a focus on long service life, low total cost of ownership, and high driver comfort. All models are designed according to the “design-to-service” principle, providing easy access to service components and reducing maintenance requirements.

The first major service is only needed after 1,000 operating hours, with hydraulic oil changes scheduled after 6,000 hours. Through digital diagnostics and remote monitoring, service can be planned proactively – and the trucks can easily be integrated into existing fleet management systems, such as Linde Fleet Management.

Ready for the Logistics of the Future

For companies aiming to combine safety, ergonomics and high efficiency, the Linde Xi Roadster series represents a strong investment in a more sustainable and productive supply chain.
