Case
To Midsona Danmark, trust in each other is the basis of cooperation - also when it comes to internal transport. Based on that motto, N.C. Nielsen has now been elected the trusted partner of Midsona Danmark, a company that needs to have its truck fleet expanded to about 100 rolling Linde units at locations in Tilst, Onsild and Mariager.
Midsona is a growth-oriented group that develops, produces and delivers more than 40 different brands in the category “healthy living”. In 2015, the Midsona group took over Urtekram, and in 2020, the group bought the competitor, System Frugt in Tilst. The two strategic acquisitions created a need to streamline and unify internal transport and to make it more efficient with one main supplier and one leading truck brand.
- We had a wish to outsource internal transport so that our technicians wouldn’t have to deal with maintaining a mixed machine fleet. We wanted to sort through that part of our business and focus on other projects. We already had some Linde models in operation, so it was natural to ask N.C. Nielsen to send us a quotation for the task, says Tavs Overgaard, Technical Manager, Midsona Danmark.
Trusts Linde
Midsona greatly trusts N.C. Nielsen and the Linde brand as the machines operate with the highest uptime level and very rarely break down. The reliable truck fleet is busy from morning to night, and the employees can rely on the truck fleet constantly being up to the mark. Specifically the high technical quality and the stability of the machines were obviously included in the considerations.
- Being able to trust the engineering is essential. Linde is German engineering at its very best. The machines are well-designed, and the employees are extremely happy to operate them during their busy day. An optimal machine fleet that helps keeping our business competitive gives you a good gut feeling, says Tavs Overgaard, Technical Manager, Midsona Danmark.
Trust in service engineers
Because of the comprehensive machine fleet, service and maintenance are key elements at Midsona, and the company left that part to N.C. Nielsen. It is a matter of scheduled maintenance, of solving technical challenges right away and having forward-looking thought processes on behalf of Midsona:
- The service engineers have been given free rein to do what is necessary. They’ve been given carte blanche to order spare parts and whatever they need. They don't have to ask for permission. We’re also happy to know their suggestions for optional equipment or a new machine. We need to constantly have well-maintained and efficient logistics machines, and N.C. Nielsen assumed that responsibility, points out Tavs Overgaard, Technical Manager, Midsona Danmark.
Cooperation with Midsona Danmark also kicks off an exciting technology development where increased automation and digitisation are high on the list of priorities. In the future, there will be even more focus on optimising fleet management, implementing AGV solutions, introducing even more sustainable battery technology and phasing in the newest Linde warehouse machines.
