N.C. Nielsen has recently delivered three additional Linde E40 electric trucks with Lithium-ION batteries to Kingspan LOGSTOR. This brings the total Linde fleet to 17 units, all helping to keep logistics running smoothly. The new Linde E40 electric trucks operate across 50 hectares of outdoor driving area, constantly transporting palletised goods across ramps, paved surfaces and gravel roads — terrain that poses no challenge for the shock-absorbing electric trucks.
“We’ve used lead-acid batteries and diesel for many years. Lithium-ION technology is now so advanced that we no longer even consider alternatives. We need maximum uptime during a single day shift, and the new Linde E40 electric trucks easily run for 7.5 hours without recharging. Even after such intense operation, there’s still 30–40% capacity left,” says Warehouse Manager Danni Greth, Kingspan LOGSTOR.
The new Linde E40 electric trucks are in operation from early morning until late afternoon. Each year, more than 7,500 lorries pass through the factory gates to be either loaded or unloaded with district heating pipes, fittings and other goods. At the Løgstør facility, up to 31,295,000 tonnes of goods are handled annually — a task that naturally requires robust, efficient and high-performance logistics equipment.
“With the new Linde E40 trucks featuring Lithium-ION batteries, we’ve embraced a completely new technology. They offer impressive capacity, minimal charging time and virtually no maintenance. We’ve installed booster chargers and even built our own weather protection covers so the chargers can stay outdoors. Our drivers simply plug in the charger at the end of their shift,” explains Danni Greth from Kingspan LOGSTOR.
The decision to switch to the new Linde electric trucks aligns with Kingspan Group’s Planet Passionate philosophy — a global initiative aimed at minimising CO₂ emissions across all production sites. At Kingspan LOGSTOR Denmark, the green transition is already visible through the use of electric company cars, solar panels on factory roofs, sustainable production measures, and now, energy-efficient Linde electric trucks.
The Linde E40 trucks are designed for quick response and efficient performance throughout the workday. At Kingspan LOGSTOR, the trucks have been fine-tuned for faster acceleration, enhanced hydraulic speed, and a maximum speed of 20 km/h, ensuring both productivity and safety on the premises.
Truck operators at Kingspan LOGSTOR were given significant influence when the company decided on its future truck brand earlier this year. Driver comfort was at the top of their wish list, reflecting the many hours spent in the trucks each day.
“Our drivers are thrilled with the comfort of the Linde E40 electric trucks. They’re quieter than our previous machines, the cabin is more spacious with excellent visibility, plenty of storage, and the suspended driver’s seat is pure luxury. The design effectively absorbs shocks and vibrations, so you hardly feel them inside the cabin while driving,” concludes Danni Greth, Kingspan LOGSTOR.
