Case N.C. Nielsen has delivered 58 Linde machines to Hilding Anders Danmark, the biggest supplier of beds and mattresses in the country. At the plant in Hurup, the northern part of Jutland, the Linde fleet is working hard to optimise internal logistics - from early morning to late night, the Linde machines are the essential tool to keep the overall production going.

To put it mildly, producing thousands of beds and mattresses every day is quite time-consuming. The Hurup plant therefore has 48,200 covered square metres, and the high-rised premises therefore allow plenty of room for the production flow from the raw materials store through high-tech robotic production and intermediate storage to the gigantic end-product warehouse from where the packaged products are sent by carriers to customers throughout Denmark.

The arrival of the brand-new Linde machines marked a change of direction for Hilding Anders Danmark. The majority of the old logistics machines was worn down, contracts were about to expire, and maintenance costs had increased. There were also too many manual pallet lifters that it would pay to replace with rolling Linde machines to ease the employees’ workload.

Competitive quotations

N.C. Nielsen has been a regular business partner at the Hurup plant for many years. Inviting N.C. Nielsen over with a few other suppliers to submit quotations was therefore a quite natural thing to do. Several quotations were requested, specific requirements for machine performance, capacity and safety equipment were defined, and existing relations were taken into consideration, emphasising N.C. Nielsen’s service quality.

- We chose to continue our good cooperation with N.C. Nielsen. Their quotation was competitive in relation to price, equipment, knowledge of our transport needs and request from employees who pointed to N.C. Nielsen. I would like to emphasise the extensive service from N.C. Nielsen and the good and long-term cooperation with their service engineers, says Henrik Wohlfahrt, PT Manager, Hilding Anders Danmark.

In the spring of 2021, Hilding Anders Danmark received 58 Linde models that were gradually phased in at the company. A number of different electric Linde pallet lifters, electric Linde trucks and Linde reach trucks on supersoft wheels with optional equipment such as Linde Warning Lines and Linde BlueSpot now run all over the Hurup plant and contribute to keeping internal logistics up to mark.

- We have received the newest machines from Linde’s current fleet programme and had internal logistics upgraded. The Linde models provide increased comfort for our employees, more safety, more flexible adjustment settings and the possibility of fleet management. We have our transport needs fully covered, and I expect N.C. Nielsen to find good solutions to our future challenges as well, says Henrik Wohlfahrt, PT Manager, Hilding Anders Danmark.

The assembly plant in Hurup received a combined Linde machine fleet that creates a closer link in internal logistics and enables further development when the transport needs at the busy plant change. The key word in the cooperation with Hilding Anders Danmark is flexibility with the possibility of continuously increasing or decreasing the level of machine variants, optional equipment and new, technological possibilities.

- We’re very excited to continue cooperating with Hilding Anders Danmark. They operate in a highly competitive market where improving all links in the combined process from raw materials to the end customer is always important. In those regards, the Linde machines play an important role as they contribute to optimising and making the internal manufacturing process more efficient. We’re looking forward to developing cooperation with new, flexible logistics solutions, says Simon D. Søndergaard, District Manager, N.C. Nielsen.
