The Linde Xi electric forklift is the latest addition to the Linde family, replacing a previous forklift generation that sold more than 200,000 units worldwide. Expectations for the new Linde truck were therefore high – and the focus on putting the operator first during development has now become evident through a number of significant improvements to the driver’s daily working environment.
For MillPart, there is a direct connection between driver comfort, ergonomic design, and smooth, productive operations. It was therefore an easy choice to go with the Linde Xi as the company’s new electric forklift to handle the many hydraulic components used in vital systems for wind turbines, aircraft, and military vehicles.
“We were convinced it had to be another Linde. We didn’t even explore other options because we’re fully familiar with Linde’s technical quality and the high service level we’ve received from N.C. Nielsen over the years. The Linde Xi electric truck is a clear upgrade and fully meets our requirements for comfort, safety, energy efficiency, and performance,” says Production Manager Mogens Højmose from MillPart.
At MillPart, Linde forklifts function as true all-round machines, moving a high volume of pallets with raw materials, semi-finished goods, and finished products every day. They run around the clock, sometimes even driving on public roads to off-site storage facilities, and they handle pallets in shipping containers, conveyor systems, and warehouse racking up to five metres high. The wide variety of tasks places significant demands on the trucks.
“The new Linde Xi electric truck is fast – both in driving and pallet handling. It saves time and delivers overall better performance. I’d also highlight the Lithium-ION batteries and the integrated charging system, which allow us to top up the battery during breaks. This increases uptime and enables near-continuous operation,” Mogens Højmose explains.
The Linde Xi electric forklift is equipped with a special suspension system that absorbs shocks, vibrations from the load, and other external impacts while driving. Visibility has been enhanced with narrower A-pillars and a windshield lowered by 25 cm. The model supplied to MillPart also features an air-suspended driver’s seat, ensuring optimal seating posture and proactive prevention of work-related injuries.
“They’ve really prioritised driver comfort. It’s clear that operator well-being was central in the development of the Linde Xi model. The low step-in height, improved visibility, enhanced suspension, top-tier safety, and advanced ergonomics all add up to a significantly improved driving experience – something our staff really appreciates,” concludes Mogens Højmose from MillPart.
