Press releases Per Löthner is 53 years old. In the early days of his career, he was an aeronautical engineer. After college, he was drafted into the Air Force. He went on to train as an officer and served as a staff officer in aeronautics from 1985 until 1990.

“Since then, I have worked in industrial sales, business to business,” says Per. “Most of the time I have either worked in packaging or fork lift trucks. Selling packaging and fork lift trucks. I guess the common ground between these two industries is logistics.”

His previous employers include SCA Packaging and Kappa Förenade Well AB. He has sold Nissan trucks in Sweden – and Atlet (now UniCarriers) trucks too. For a time he worked for ELM, a Danish company that makes accessories for fork lift trucks.

“When I sold packaging, I sorely missed selling machinery.”

This summer Per joined the Terberg Scandinavia team and N.C. Nielsen, working with Area Sales Manager Douglas Wångdahl, Service Team Leader Mogens Kjær and Parts Assistant Rasmus Hansen.

“I knew N.C. Nielsen to be a great company that makes fine machinery a long time before I started work here,” Per explains. “When I was working at Atlet, I sold a few terminal tractors via Douglas to my own customers. We stayed in contact. When N.C Nielsen needed to enhance its operations, I saw an excellent opportunity for me to come and join Douglas in such an enviable position.”

Two veritable sales veterans are joining forces. They have a sum total of more than 60 years’ experience of selling machinery to the logistics industry. Douglas has just less than 40, while Per has 23. Even so, Per believes that there are obvious challenges in his new job.

“Above all, I need to learn more about port operations. Ports and harbours are a new customer category for me.”

Per lives with his family on a farm at Ekeby, near Helsingborg in Sweden. Two of his children, a girl and a boy, 23 and 22 years old respectively, have recently left home to study at university.

“Our farm is small. At one time, it was an apple orchard. We still have many trees. We also used to have horses but wound up those activities. I love the outdoor life, especially the Kullaberg peninsula, which is just plain amazing. We love hiking, caving and mountaineering.”
