Linde has developed a groundbreaking solution with its new Surround View System, which is currently available for selected front-loader forklift models. The cameras provide the operator with an unobstructed 360° view around the truck. This brings clear advantages, especially when manoeuvring in narrow areas.
In contrast to conventional systems, the live images from the cameras are not combined into a virtual complete view, but instead are displayed 1:1 as a split screen on a monitor on the operator’s workstation. Thanks to the four separate viewing areas, a distortion-free representation of the working environment is provided and the operator is accurately informed about possible collision hazards.
