Press releases N.C. Nielsen sees a heavily increasing demand for machinery solutions for heavy lifting. For the past three years, N.C. Nielsen has developed, produced and sold more than 65 heavy handling reach stackers with lifting capacities from 85 to 180 tonnes. There is every indication that demand for heavy lifting machinery will continue unabated.

- We anticipate demand to increase in step with goods being heavier and heavier. We also see an increased focus on green energy and green technology, for example with wind turbines that continue to become larger. This has created an increasing need for internal transport of heavy goods, says Jørgen Peter Lund, Sales Manager, N.C. Nielsen.

Heavy handling machinery is in demand throughout the world. N.C. Nielsen has supplied machinery solutions to customers in China, Vietnam, the USA and a large number of European countries. The machines are specifically developed to handle heavy goods at companies, for example transport of wind turbine towers, nacelles, concrete constructions, extremely heavy machine parts and the like.

Increased requirements from customers

Customer requirements have increased in recent years. The requirements concern economic aspects such as operational reliability, short payback periods and low maintenance costs. Green technology, sustainability and energy-efficient driving is in focus among customers, as well as active safety and service available around the clock. Last, but not least, the operator must benefit from a good view, a low noise level, options and ergonomic details to make work on a busy day easier.

- Flexibility has become a keyword among our customers. Heavy handling machinery must be capable of solving varied tasks. We therefore see an increasing number of machines with options such as hooks, spreaders, telescopic forks and jibs enabling them to handle many different lifting tasks, says Jørgen Peter Lund, Sales Manager, N.C. Nielsen.

All competences in-house

To meet the global demand, N.C. Nielsen has upgraded their product range in heavy handling. Being a full-line supplier, N.C. Nielsen has built up a specialised team with in-house experts within consulting, project management and machinery design. A new production building in Balling, Denmark, houses all technical facilities to construct the machines.

- Interesting work is going on in connection with the development of each machine as all heavy handling solutions are created in close collaboration with our customers. By inviting the customer in to be part of the process and into our advanced production team, they learn that anything is possible in innovative development work, says Jørgen Peter Lund, Sales Manager, N.C. Nielsen.
